Our Tuber borchii plantation was planted in the summer of 2014, and we harvested our first truffles just three and a half years later. Our plantation is located in the North Carolina Coastal Plain near the border with Virginia.
ELEVATE YOUR CUISINE
Tuber borchii are prized for their aroma, or intense flavor that is earthy. Tuber borchii truffles are described as sharp, buttery, garlicky and cheesy – elevating nearly any dish to stratospheric heights. Whether shaved, sliced, or infused into decadent oils and sauces, Tuber borchii truffles are an indulgent and luxurious addition to risottos, rice and pasta dishes, cheese, eggs, potatoes, succulent meats and seafood.
LEARN ABOUT OUR FARM
Our North Carolina homestead has been in the family for generations. Although truffles can be challenging to cultivate, Burwell Farms® is uniquely situated in the North Carolina Coastal Plain, which has ideal weather and soil conditions for growing large and luscious truffles. In the summer of 2014, we planted loblolly seedlings and were pleased to harvest our first crop of truffles just three and a half years later. Today, our farm is known for supplying the highest quality fresh Bianchetto truffles to gourmet kitchens and restaurants.
